‘Dana’s Song’
When you have lost your voice and cannot sing
Remember that I hold you in my prayers.
I’m powerless, and cannot do a thing
But wallow in the depths of my despairs
Until, with health restored, you reappear,
A spirit shimmering and sweet and wise
Who stands so peaceful, vanquishing all fear,
Victorious with ever loving eyes.
Then I, renewed in strength, will find my voice
And sing for you a song surpassing love,
So in the heavens angels will rejoice
And earth will be as perfect as above.
Return to me that I might hear your song;
Until you do for your sake I’ll be strong.
When you have lost your voice and cannot sing
Remember that I hold you in my prayers.
I’m powerless, and cannot do a thing
But wallow in the depths of my despairs
Until, with health restored, you reappear,
A spirit shimmering and sweet and wise
Who stands so peaceful, vanquishing all fear,
Victorious with ever loving eyes.
Then I, renewed in strength, will find my voice
And sing for you a song surpassing love,
So in the heavens angels will rejoice
And earth will be as perfect as above.
Return to me that I might hear your song;
Until you do for your sake I’ll be strong.
