Would you suggest buying a GM going out of business brand?

I know saturn, poniac, and saab are on the out list. Should I consider getting one? The reason I may want to get one is because they are cheaper than average so I believe it is a deal. I am somewhat scared because the reason they went out of business is poor quality vechicles. People told me that was then, now most American cars dependable now. I don't know what to believe... What do u think? Also what are your experiences with GM?
