would you reccemend a honda CBR 125 as a first bike?

i am on a CBT with a full car licence , and thinking of buying a cbr , but wht i have herd , your first bike seems to be the one tht gets destroyed by carelessness or lack of exprience, but it seems to be the sort of bike i would want. or would it be more partical putting up with a cg125 for my first year instead?
 
like your honda's dont you! anyway the cg is a much tougher bike and great for plodding around town. If you crash theres not much that will break and lots of bits from the breakers anyway, its not a very pretty bike tho. The CBR is quite a bit faster, better on the open roads and better handling, but more fragile with it both enginewise and when you drop it, (which you will). The CBR is more likely to have been thrashed by some semi competent teen, but if its been serviced properely it can cope pretty well. expect 20K miles out of the CBR before problems, CG Ive seen with 40K!
