Would You Read A Book?

Would you read a book which:

Discriminates against women
Promotes incest
Discriminates against homosexuals
Is full of contradictory bullshit
Keeps talking about foreskins
Discriminates against victims of castration
Promotes human sacrifice
Says masturbation is wrong
Discriminates against woman having their periods
Condemns non christians to hell
Promotes slavery
Says the Universe was Created in 48026 BCE
And so on

You probably want to stay away from a book like this. Yet if you go to church you have read it. If you send your children to a catholic school they have probably read from it. Good christian parents want their children to read it.

In case you are wondering I am talking about thi bible.

Would you want to read it if you havent?

Went to a private catholic school...Was the only athiest there...And all i did in religous studies was draw, write lyrics, do homework from other subjects and catch up on some sleep (and while doing this still maintained a B+ for the subject*...and all up i would of read 5 pages of the bible...I must say the 5 pages i read had nothing like that in them...If they actually did put a half decent movie to it i might consider watching (but then again it would be a 24 hour movie)...So maybe not...

Oh and if you want to listen to a good band that stands up agaisnt organised religion...listen to Corporate Avenger...If you don't like rap/rock genre then just listen to the lyrics....

To go back on topic...yeah, i probably would...

I dont know if anyone has heard of, or read the books by David Pelzer. Basically, there are three books which follow his life; they show his struggle to overcome the severe abuse (torture) that his mother put him through as a child (and I mean severe.) It is all entirely true, and some of the things in them made me feel ill. I think that, if there is a good message in a book, then it is worth reading. Just because I read te books about child abuse, certainly doesn't mean i condone it; but the underlying message is incredible. I'd urge everyone to go to the library and get these.

EDIT to add: Sorry for going all serious :)
