According to a study conducted by by Chris Manolis of Xavier University and James Roberts of Baylor University, having more free time and/or stuff generally doesn't make you happier. While we're not surprised that buying tons of stuff isn't going to bring you happiness, it's interesting to know that there's a sort of "happiness threshold" for your free time as well. This, however, points to an interesting dilemma: do we really need vacation days, or would we be better off working less year-round and having more time to ourselves on a day-to-day basis? More »
