Now that it is summer time, I have taken off my doors on my four-door Jeep. I have a 19-month-old boy who I lock into a child seat, just bebind me.
I get all kinds of nasty stares from people, along with all the various reactions of just missing doors. It really bothers people on the four door models, as you almost expect it on the two-door models.
I have had one person on Yahoo Answers says it does not sound like a hot idea incase of an accident. The Four Door Wrangler is the safest Jeep on the road since going to a full roll cage. The older CJ models were death traps because the roll bar could not even handle one full roll.
Would you put your kids in an open air Jeep?
I tend to stay off the highways when I have my toddler in the Jeep because of flying rocks. I have been hit a few times with rocks, so I avoid the highways.
Out of all the vehicles I have owned, and driven, including Porsches and BMW's that get a lot of attention, the four door Jeep bothers a lot of people. Tons of nasty stares. Not just a few, and sometimes people veer towards me because they are checking the Jeep out. I have had other Jeeps, and no where near the attention.
