Hello again. Recently I posted a persuasive essay for a school project preparing us for a huge writing test at the end of the year, and my teacher gave us a really lame topic to starts us off with. (me and my classmates) I had two very helpful answers, and so I revised it, and have decided to put up my hopefully-final draft.
I would love your very honest oppinions, but please say so in a nice way. Be critical, but not too harsh.
If you see any mistakes, punctuation, grammar, anything, tell me and I'll go over it.
The topic was that the government wants to take out all extra curricular activities from schools, write a letter to the governor convincing him why we should keep them.
And the governor has no name, so I just call him/her Governor.

Dear Governor,

Schools through out the nation must keep their extra curricular activities. Such as music, art, chess club, drama, swim team, and football. I will now state three out of many reasons on why we should keep these classes. One, we the students, still learn many, many things in these courses, even if they are the small details. Secondly, some students may do poorly in the required classes, like math and social studies, but excel in the extra-curricular classes, for example: art. And thirdly, students need a break every once in awhile throughout the school day, and it should be given to them.

Here are a few details to support reason one: You still learn things in these classes, even if they are the little things. Say if you took Home Economics, your teacher would teach you the basic skills of cooking, and math is involved, like measurements. Some of the things we're taught in art are the fundamentals of shapes, blending, shading, and how to use the utensils. Art also lets students stretch their imagination, and extend their creativity level majorly. Lastly, really any type of physical-doing sport, example soccer or volleyball, can help you improve on your hand eye coordination. This can be very handy in life.
Every student has a certain, unique talent about them. By taking away one of their "specialties", it gives students very less of a chance to be able to do what they enjoy, and express who they are. Drama students enjoy the performing, and emotions they must put out there, and give all they got. Of course, we all know most schools have the football teams, and cheerleaders. The only reason these students have joined the sports that are provided for them, is because they love it, and are good at it. With that, they also can express their creativity in those ways. Music class is another extra-curricular class, most schools have. There are many amazing students out there, who strive for a dream of becoming a musician someday, and they have their time to practice at music class. It gives them a chance to improve in areas they need to work on for the future if needed.

Us students honestly need the breaks every once in awhile doing the school week/day. If our activities were stolen from us, we'd be cooped up all day in the regular classes. Getting two minute breaks to get from class to class. Frequently, brains get "turned off", and need something to boost it back up, possibly a sport to get the blood pumping. For my final detail, as I said up above, about our brains getting turned off, they can also be over-whelmed at times. Between home life and school life, it can be pretty difficult. So being able to relax your brain, students would be allowed to hit their sewing class if there is one, and just sew away.

Please deeply consider the above paragraphs. Just to do a quick summarization, here are my three main reasons. Students do learn things from these classes, and that’s one reason why they were put into the schools, not only for fun. Many have a talent that should be encouraged and expressed, fed on to strive to become better. Everyone needs a break every once in awhile. And if you think about it, we all need breaks every once in awhile, even if we do not attend school anymore. Please re-think over your thought of taking away our extra-curricular activities.
Sincerely,
Sariah P. -Student

Thanks for all your help! Was this convincing enough?
Sorry, the paragraphs are all whacked up!
