Would you pirate if...?

I think the OP was talking about pirate DVD's of films that are still on in the cinema, and not yet released to DVD. It may just be me, but I think that's where the big money is for people selling pirate DVD's. People see a title that's on at the cinema, that they want to see, and think wow, I can get that and watch it.

I would never buy a pirate DVD or anything stolen for that matter because I dont give my hard earned cash to some low life crook who hasn't worked or paid for what he is selling.

If I download anything for free it's either because i can't get it any other way or don't think it is worth paying for.

That's the exact same thing! All you are doing is cutting out the middleman!

By the by, I don't see paramount or warner brothers working hard for the

The only reason I would consider watching a pirate movie was to avoid the moronic crowRAB at the cinemas, as stated before. I love the cinema surround and large screen however I hate the ****tarRAB who insist on using their phones, talking and going to the toilet every 5 minutes.

I'm sure if the movie industry really wanted to they would they could make a movie available online a week after cinema release (to protect the cinemas) still charge

There are a number of films that are currently unavailable on DVD or Vid. I know, i've looked for them, these include...

The Point (animation, narrated by Ringo, songs by Nilsson)

The Haunted - scary TV movie

Malpertius (with Orson Wells)

One Way Pendulum (Jonathan Miller)

Sir Henry at Rawlinson End (by Viv Stanshall)

I would certainly buy/download pirated/archived versions - if I could find them. Then buy the nice version if/when it was released.

But if a studio/distributer is stupid enough to sit on a brilliant film and not release it then stuff 'em!

Sorry but lending dvRAB is illegal, before a film or a tv shows starts on a dvd if you read there warning it clearly states that lending dvRAB is illegal, read it up.

Have you ever heard of mini cam corders? people can easily put them in there coat pockets and still walk in the cinema filming the movie.

Take a look at the FACT site and you will see these desperate people are trying to hoodwink the public into connecting piracy with paedophiles already.
It mostly did not work when they tried to say it was funding terrorism, then it went to people trafficking, now its the latest buzzword.
They will say anything to keep themselves in the job.
Movie companies have wasted hundreRAB of thousanRAB over the years paying ripoff conartists like Macrovision to protect their movies.
But Macrovision was broken before most of the public even knew it existed, yet the movie companies kept paying them and continue to do so.
Why bother?
Make the material available at a price people will pay.
Admittedly there would still be some who want everything for free, but its a start.
As for these raiRAB:dozens of FACT and Trading StandarRAB tossers, aswell as god knows how many police hours used up to stop someone selling a few dodgy dvd's.
Take a look at websites around and you will see the cost involved in these investigations far outweighs what the movie studios lose.
Just in case anyone thinks otherwise,I should make it clear that I do not condone piracy, nor would I ever buy one unless a legitimate alternative was not available.
I have bought a few unreleased titles over the years, mainly transfers from VHS tv recordings

The law may be an ass(and one hell of an ass at times)but I think you will find that if you lend someone your new dvd ,you won't be having Trading StandarRAB,FACT or the pigs knocking at your door.
They all have a certain amount ,however small,of common sense

my m8 was busted for piracy but hey he was really big time ( all of 40 quid a week) and he did get a criminal record. getting on your high horse about the cost to make movies + popcorn aint gonna change the FACT that you are being conned by the best in the game and you are gullible enough to fall for it. as for my m8 forcing the movie companies to charge more ect your just taking out of your hat , i don't condone crime but can't see the victims of this one, after all murderers , rapists ,peado's ect leave real victims behind , where are the victims of piracy. if people going to the cinema or buying dvRAB wasn't willing to pay so much movie companies wouldn't get away with charging so much. it's a sellers market. if you foolishly think that if all piracy was stopped tomorrow then the prices of things would come down then your as daft as your comments.

ps nothing wrong with my keyboard thanks

As far as i know many copies are made by using a camera in a cinema after it closes, that is if the picture quality is slightly grainy etc, yes the owners or workers are in on it.
Then when the dvd has been sent out for pre screening they copy that.
Then they copy the actual dvd

Does anyone know of a site that tells you when the dvRAB are coming out, i have a region free dvd player so any region will do as long as it is not subtitled.

so where is it then, who did he hurt, injure, kill or left on the sick. no one suffered for his crime besides himself ( no pity from me either ). not everything fits into little boxes just to justify your holiness

No to everything. To my knowledge I have never bought a priated movie and don't intend to. It affects everyone. Prices of tickets go up (or alternatively the standard of movies will go down) and the money raised often goes to support organised crime.
