that wasn't painted originally by the artist? My town has acquired a steel abstract sculpture about 15 ft high, and it will sit in the town square. It is bare steel, and has oxidized and pitted over the years (it was previously on display outside a museum). It now has the patina the artist intended for it to obtain. But this hick town wants to paint the sculpture. I think this is a blatant disrespect of the sculpture and the artist. I am on the committee that acquired this piece, and I will have a say in this repainting idea, but I'd like to know if what others think. Thanks.
