Would you go to the dealership to have your car repaired?

or would you go to pep boys or another place to get your car fixed? Ive heard from some people close to me say that the dealership charges too much and they never fix anything. what would you suggest?

Dealers are generally higher priced from higher overhead, but you must relize a lot of chains both in the U.S. and Canada, deal on sales. A lot of specials are really designed to get you in the door, then "upsell you" A smaller independent shop with a qualified and licensed mechanic is the best alternative..reasons. They want you back, they get to know your car better and care a lot more about their reputations than a dealer or chain.

I only go to the dealership if it is warranty work or I can't get it fixed elsewhere due to the part(s) being unavailable - Everything else gets done at a reputable mechanic shop because dealers are notorious for over charging for every little service.
