Okay, so this question has 3 parts:
a. would you vote for an agnostic/atheist if they were as qualified as the other candidate
b. would you vote for an agnostic/atheist even if they were much less qualified
c. how long do you think it would take before it's possible
Seems to me like politicians have to declare a religion because all have, last time I checked. Politicians can have affairs, say stupid comments, have a clearly corrupt past, etc but I believe they may face less controversy than an atheist/agnostic would.
The following link states the number of people willing to vote for a non-religious person as 45%. Btw, It has other interesting facts so that's why I posted it.
