Would you call this an illness?

I know a few (very few) amount of people who supposedly suffer from such an "illness" in which they have been prescribed with anti-depressants.
They generally seem indifferent, they seem unanimated compared to others (lack of smiling, laughing, looking at someone in the eye during speech) and are mistaken as "worried" due to their facial expression. They are more apathetic than others. They are highly sensitive to their visual surroundings. They often find difficulty in expressing themselves and therefore become too lazy to talk (this also involves responding to questions). They are very quiet and rarely have anything to say, let alone anything interesting.
In other words, they're pretty much like a living zombie.
Would you call this a person with a legitimate illness, self-conscious attitude, or someone who is just plain dumb?
