take it to a shop and they will perform an inspection.. right before they drive the car in.. walk up to the mechanic himself that is goin to do the work and slip him a 20 and tell him you really want him to check out the car and let you know.. but if the car runs good.. the exhaust doesn't smell sweet and seems to drive good.. . then check the oil and if its clean and there is no visual oil on the engine your good to go.. one tip is to get a card board box and set it somewhere.. then get the car for a test drive and then go over and park it over the card board box and let it sit for 10 minutes.. then move the car and see whats on the box.. if there is fluid on the box.. beware.. i hope this helps..
