Would you be able to transfer apps from an iphone 4 to a Ipod 4G?

Was considering buying an ipod 4G, but have bought hundreds of apps for my iphone 4 so was wondering does an ipod work the same as an iphone & can the apps already saved on your computer that were purchased for the iphone 4 be simply transferred to an ipod device via itunes or does apple/itunes restrict transferring apps to a new device? (Would be using the same computer) Thanks
