Would This Be a Good Topic for a Gen-Ed College Analysis Speech?

I need to get a 6 minute speech together this week for a freshman public speaking class of mine. I've been really stumped since this is not an informational or persuasive speech; it is an analysis speech.

From what I've gathered by looking at the dictionary term for 'analysis', it generally involves looking at elements of a topic and examines them in detail.

After going through a lot of topics, I decided to consider what I love. I am currently majoring in graphic design and have a great interest in advertising techniques. So my general question is this:

Does a speech analyzing the elements/techniques of successful advertising sound like a good topic?

I can do a lot with it, and make it humorous and personal. However, I always worry about topics being too boring or speaking about something the audience may already know a bit about. Or, what could I change about my speech's purpose to make it more fresh?

Thanks a ton for any input!
