Would these applications work on a BlackBerry if I'm using a Generic Data Plan not

the BB plan? I'm thinking of buying a Blackberry after getting to know that it's possible to use a generic data plan instead of the BB service one (with the drawback of not being able to use BBM, Email, and BB Browser), which should not be a problem because many third party browsers and email clients would work.

I'm wondering what other applications would work, specifically, would these work?
- Skype
- Nimbuzz
- Fring
- any other VoIP software
- WhatsApp
- Facebook
