Would there be much difference in accuracy between a 17 and 20 grain bullet?

If I get a .17 hmr rifle, would I get a noticeable increase in accuracy or knockdown power with a 20 grain vs 17 grain bullet?

for long range the 20 will drop a little more but they are all hollow points so the do surprisingly well knockdown wise. i shoot 17 grain our of mine and when i had it sighted in at 100 yards the 20 grain rounds definitely came in low.

Not a noticeable difference in knockdown, but there COULD be a difference in accuracy, depends on the rifle. I have a 204 Ruger that won't group ANY 40 grain bullets under 1 1/2", but it will group factory 32 grain ammo in less than 3/8". I can't explain it, but some guns shoot different ammo better. Buy a box of each and see how they group in your gun. It could be very similar, or one could group considerable better.

* No not really.*.. There would be if it were the difference between a 17, or 20 grain with a 40 or 45 grain.* Then definately yes a big difference in accuracy, impact and performance.* Thats why a 22 Magnum is far superior over the .17hmr caliber rifle.*
