Another 2p on a litre of Petrol. Kicking the consumers where it hurst yet again and having the cheek to say it's to reduce the Environmental damage! Yeah right what do they think we are ? Mugs?

Catch the bus if you cannot afford your own transport if you want to drive using up valuable resources then pay up.
Only the wealthy should drive cars anyway just like it was meant to be.
 
I'm so sick of the so called "environment". They are doing the recycling nazi thing round where I live. If they are so fucking concerned about the planet why don't THEY come round my house and sort through my rubbish, I haven't got time.

Any sympathy I might have had for the Green cause has pretty much died with the heavy handedness of the Government's attempts to force us to "be green".

We have more environmental KOOKS in our government than they do in UK. ALl they care about is "feeling good".

If the money raised was spent on improving the environment I doubt if many people would complain. it would still be a hardship but would have a benefit for our kids futures.

But with this government it is just another excuse for a tax rise (one of the many they promised they wouldn't make and still try to deny that they have made)

If they didn't waste all of the money they raise from all of the tax increases and stealth taxes we wouldn't be in the mess we are in now.
 
I get the impression that the labour Gov't are trying to lose the election next year. I also like the way they announced the tax increase over the bank holiday when everyone is on holiday. This Government is ridiculous.

Also, they say the increase is to promote sustainable travel - Well, if they had not just closed my local train station then I would be inclined to agree with them but public transport is getting worse whilst the public pay for their mistakes.
 
It's happening all over the planet at the moment, and sadly it's those with cars that are being hurt the most. At least in the UK you have a decent public transport system, this goes a long way to help ease the load.
Here in NZ everything is so spread out that if you don't have a car your pretty much F*cked, and even I have stopped using mine. Better to walk, or bike it than pay for something you can live without.
What the hell is going on in my wee corner of the globe? S*it I'm due to come home in January and even I'm getting worried.
