would restaurants hire an 18 yr old as a waitress?

im 18 but can pass for a bit older. ive never ever worked in the food industry. I want to work at a restaurant to make some money for traveling. whats the best place to start off? would most places hire an 18 yr old or do they look for older people?

That's the perfect age. I was a waitress at 17.
