cause the car to stall? After removing the cluster I found that a small plastic snap-in ring below the speedometer needle was creating a friciton that the magnetic field could not overcome. I removed this ring and turned the needle back to 0.
The needle now moves but sits at 10mph during idle.
I had to remove the trim on the dash and steering wheel of course which had some rubber lining between the column.
Now when driving up a hill I can sense the car giving out but not completely stalling, and when starting up sometimes hear a loud screetch.
Could the work done have caused this?
