Would it still be considered personification if a living, but not human, thing

was given human traits? Example? Here's the line from The Catcher in the Rye I want to know if i could consider personification:

"...you'll have an idea what kind of thoughts your particular size mind should be wearing... trying on ideas... and dress your mind accordingly."
