Hello everyone I need some serious advice, so please answer only if you are very knowledgeable about cars. I went to a used car dealership and I had my eyes set on this 1998 Toyota Avalon XL. It has $153,000 miles, automatic transmission, and the dealership wants $4,995. That is a good price for my range because I have $4,000 to put on a down payment and I am really not trying to have a car note to pay because I am not working very much and I have twin boys to support. Also, about 3 people in my family have owned Toyota cars and they have had their cars for YEARS. However, My sister told me that it would not be wise to purchase a vehicle with a year model under the year 2000. She insists that I will eventually have trouble with it because it is over a decade old. (She doesn't know much about cars). So at this point, I don't know what to do. PLEASE HELP
