No not at all. However if you exchanged e-mails for school purposes then he may expect you to contact him that way for school, but you can start your way from school to other topics and work your way up.

Theres nothing wrong with talking to people no matter how you do it
 
well we where in a group together and we exchnged e-mails, i added to msn, would it be wierd to say whats up on msn, i have spoken to him in the group and he was nice,

also what does it mean if he looks at me sometimes then looks away, or when i was presenting he didn't look at me at all, only when he said good job, and his friend looked at me as well.
