Would it be possible for me to use Freddie Mercury as my musician for my Jazz project?

One of his inspirations, Aretha Franklin, falls under the Jazz umbrella term and he did write a few Jazz songs throughout his career. Would it be possible for me to show how Jazz inspired him to make both Jazz and Rock music?
