I found a 2004 Mazda 6 4 cyl, automatic, with 86,000 miles on it for 8k. I also found a 04 Mazda 3, automatic with 90,000 miles on it for 8300. Would both of these last me for years if maintained? Help.

Years v mileage sound like they're ex-company cars. That'll mean one or both of two things, that they've been regularly serviced but may have been thrashed as well.

we have had a lot of mazdas. If maintained they have long and dependable lives...oldest current one is a 98 626 with 166000 miles on it..if you can find out hhe service history it would be grat, and the proir answer re timing belts is correct although they are somewhat cheaper here..good luck

Probably, but I bet both are due a timing belt change. $500, including water pump.
