Would it be a bad idea if i put a chevy 454 in my cavalier?

A 454 big block would not fit in that little car without extensive work you are looking a $10,000 plus. Might not even fit at all. If you got that kinda money ditch the crappy compact and a real mans car.
 
yes it would ! for many reasons. for 1 the front end won,t hold up and another thing your transmission won,t bolt up and your mount holes in the uni-body won,t line up.
 
Won't work.

Won't be worth it.

Won't be easy.

Won't cost less than around 10,000.

Won't be any sort of interesting to anyone.

Won't be nearly as fast as you're thinking it will be.
