Would i write my name in Hiragana or Katakana?

Okay, so my name is spelled Gene, and i'm having trouble deciding what kana to write it in. Because my name only has two syllabales that are both in the Hiragana chart, could i write it in hiragana? but please take note, that my name is not of Japanese origin, therfore it is a foreign name.

So which is the proper way to write my name?
