would i damage my engine if i take my catalyst off in my 99 mazda millenia s?

No damage to your car. Yes damage to the earth (and your own lungs as you will ALWAY be the closest to your car). ;-(

Also you would NEVER pass the emission. My nephew was re-attaching the car converter EVERY year just before the test. And removing it again. Then he got tired of it and just left it in.
