would I be covered If i insured my bike up in the north and drove it in rep of ireland ?

Hi, I want to get A moped and im 16 and the costs of the insurance in ireland are mad! 800-2500 euro for a small 50 cc moped.
I checked prices up in the north and its bout 250-400£ which is a lot better. If I insured my bike there would I be covered In Republic of ireland ?
