Would GM top end engine cleaner leave a strong gas smell in the oil?

I have a 94 Chevy Camaro 3.4 V6. Over the summer I use 2 cans of GM top engine cleaner to blow out all the crap that has built up over the years out of the top of the motor. I changed the plugs and wires as soon as I had done that, about a month later had an oil change. When I had the oil change done the mechanic noticed a fairly strong gas smell coming from the oil that just came out. What the heck is going on. O the valve cover gaskets need to be replaced as well but I don't think that's the problem. Other wise seems to run ok. What could it be and how much to fix it???
