A friend of mine went in with her iPod that was also out of warranty and even though it was broken they replaced it with the newest generation because it had a working battery. I have a 2nd generation iPod nano that is out of warranty. The actual screen is intact, but the LCD screen is cracked. the battery works and you can still listen to music if you know your way around the iPod. would apple replace my iPod as well?
