I'm graduating from university in May 2009 and want/get to take the trip of a lifetime and I have a craving for something completely wild and off the beaten path. I'm thinking of taking 2-3 months and starting in Istanbul and working across Asia to Beijing.
I'm American but I'm a lot more world-oriented than most of my countrymen. I'm just a regular guy, I like to party, debate politics (I happily voted for Obama), learn new things, see the world, and meet new people. I'd like to think that I have my head on straight and consider myself to be responsible and fairly well-grounded.
As far as travel, I really want to go to Iran and would love to see Afghanistan and it really makes me angry that both countries are so difficult to get into, but they are options nonetheless.
