Would an insurance company consider a 2006 honda civic si a sports car?

More importantly, would the insurance rates on one be higher than on my current car ( a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix GT), which is not considered a sports car?

If it would be higher what % of an increase can I expect? (I'm 19 years old with a clean driving record)

Thanks in advance.
Should have mentioned I know I'll pay more for full coverage and because it's newer. Basically I want to know if the Civic Si is classified in a more expensive category than the Grand Prix GT is.

yep, they look at the cars HP and the total value... so if the cars value is higher than your previous car, then it will go up, common sense... on top of that you will need full coverage unless you payed in full... nice car btw

Your insurance rat would increase drastically. I dont hav a percentage, but you should check around different companies for the best price. You may be better off switching companies if you are getting a sportscar, depending on the deal you can get.
