I have OCD and am susceptible to superstition, so I have to be careful not to fall into stupid traps. Anyway, I asked a question in the Mental Health section regarding getting help for OCD and one of the responses actually told me that OCD isn't a disorder - it's a spirit (ghost). How can I escape this fear now? Thanks a lot if you can help. People with mental health issues don't need people doing that sort of thing.
Here's his answer:
OCD is not a mental disorder, contrary to what most say. You have a spirit (ghost) accompanying you that is literally forcing this behavior upon you - no I'm not kidding. It is this spirit that is giving you these negative feelings if you do not comply. Do you suffer from migraines (also caused by a spirit)? Obsessive compulsive behavior is the corner stone of saintliness, sloppiness and lack of discipline is not.
The bottom line is that when proper behaviors are insufficient in number, a spirit may force behaviors until they become habit.
I have two recommendations. First, as proof you have a spirit accompanying you, the next time you feel the need to be obsessive, hold out an open/relaxed hand in an attempt to feel this spirit. It will know what you are attempting, and will most likely oblige. If you feel a tingling sensation, that will be the spirit. With the knowledge that it exists, try to beat the spirit to the punch. In other words, you should pray without being prodded. If you are not thanking God eight to ten times per day on your own, than you are not praying sufficiently.
