I am thinking about going into the Navy or Coast Guard. I was diagnosed bipolar when I was 14, and have stayed in 2 state hospitals when I was 17 at my parents will. My counselors didn't know that I came from an abusive home, and because of that I looked bipolar. I moved out, stopped medications and therapy at 17. I haven't had any issues since. I'm 20. Would they automatically dq me or would they give me an evaluation?
Would a misdiagnoses of bipolar disorder disqualify you from the military?
