Would a Jeep Wrangler be a good first car for me? why or why not?

I'm a 16 year old that likes off-road vehicles with big tires, but i know i cant afford the gas. i have heard that wranglers are pretty efficient. i am also open to any other suggestions- cheap, reliable, efficient
