I refuse to make eye contact and I have really bad social anxiety. I don't really feel emotions (especially positive ones). The more uncomfortable I feel in a social situation the worse my vocabulary is.
I saw a success story on the news of an autistic child who wouldn't talk or make eye contact. The child was given hyperbaric chamber therapy and within a few 1 hour sessions she improved dramatically. The mom was crying saying the child is really affectionate now and doesn't stop talking and makes eye contact instead of looking through her.
They say in people affected by autism spectrum disorders there's a shortage of oxygen to certain parts of the brain (the part that controls communication for example). The hyperbaric chamber pumps in 100% oxygen and areas of the brain that were once not operating at normal capacity are then activated.
I think my aspergers is pretty low on the spectrum if that makes a difference. For instance I was in normal classes in high school.
THERE ARE MANY SUCCESS STORIES FYI
