Would a hybrid bike be a good choice for my situation?

I am overweight and want to start riding with my husband as part of my workout. Although we plan to ride in the street, on the boardwalk, and in the park I believe we will mainly be using the boardwalk because it goes for 3-5 miles approx along the coast.

Also when we first start out we will be riding for about 30 -45 minutes then riding longer and farther as I build up my endurance.

Would a hybrid bike be a good fit for me riding in these places (the boardwalk especially) and for that length of time? Also what are some good hybrid bikes that aren't too expensive? I am just starting out with limited funds.

Thank you.

Umm dimondback might make a hybrid (not sure) but I kno Trek does but it will be more than an Dimondback you might also try Felt bikes they make some good bikes if you have a local bike shop you can go there and ask questions an look at some brands
and yes it should be a good type of bike.
I think its great that your choosing bikeing for a weight loss program thing.
