would a geared bike go faster than a scooter?

to settle this with my friends ,if both bikes are like restricted at 50mph for example aprilia sr and a aprilia rs 50,would having gears make the rs go any faster than the sr ?? my mate said summat about the tourqe making it faster aswell
niel your's is de-restricted and it has a arrow exhaust on it D:

you might aswell tell everyone about that bore kit it has aswell
 
this should be easy to answer! i could gear my bike down to accelerate to 50mph by changing the sprocket sizes.

the answer is yes. this will change the acceleration dramatically and how fast the motor can pull through its rpm range

if you nee more details post something up on pureriderz. it's the club i belong to. you can ask what ever in the forum. and Im sure it will get answered. not many people on yahoo actually know much about bikes. to see the answers people give are going to get people killed.
