Would a Ducati 848 be a ok street bike?

I’ve been hearing allot of good stuff on the new ducati's but I have always thought of Ducati's as being extremely unreliable.

How are they now?
O ya I forgot to ask, Anyone know how Ducati's are on gas? What could I expect?
