Would a 5 gallon tank be OK for my Betta fish?

Let me make this story short. Woke up to a crack 10 gallon tank. Needed to move my TWO betta fish to a 5 gallon tank ( I have a divider separating them of course). While switching them and the whole clean up the little stone from the air pump broke. So I have two questions for you. 1. Will my betta's be ok without a air pump? and 2. Will they be ok living in a 5 gallon tank?

I can't afford to buy another tank right now so that's why I'm asking. It's a small tank but they look like they have enough room to swim around. Also I read that betta's can live without an air pump but not sure if that is true. They have there heater and filter so yea, I think that's about it.
That's what I was thinking about the 5 gallon tank. I can see one of them in there just fine but two. I haven't been able to stop looking at the fish tank. I keep looking to see if there OK. I guess I got so use to the 10 gallon and the air pump.

Oh and I've thought of having a Betta with neon tetras before but right when I got to the pet store I changed my mind. I got to scared that the Betta would do something to them, lol. That's why I got two Betta's and divided the tank. =)
