would 3d tv technology work on...?

i think i read somewhere that 3d isnt possible in smaller tv sets like 20 inches or 22 inches. So that they wouldnt make them. I now cant find that article and i was wondering if some of you guys knew if 3d is possible to achieve in smaller tvs or no? i am NOT asking hypothetically im asking with the technology that we have now or in the near future could they make one.
