I was considering beefing up my system but I was wondering if it was doing too much to add two 12s? if so what would u guys recommend? And what are the best brands for subwoofers, amps and speakers?

It depends on what your looking for in your sound. 2 12in subs will bring you deep bass. If your going for the bass then its a good choice. If you want an all around great sound then i'd suggest 1 10in JL Audio sub with a sufficient amp to push it. Your mid range and highs should also be of quality. I'd recommend Infinity or Boston Acoustic for these. You may also consider an amp for the highs / mids, but a good deck sometimes will be sufficient. Visit www.crutchfield.com for some good information.

(2) 12" subs is a lot. Depending on the type of box that you plan to run you may not have enough volume to develop the sound you are looking for. I like 10" subs a lot more than 12" as they can develop the hard hitting notes just as well and don't need nearly as much volume. As for brands I'm really fond of either Alpine and Rockford for Amps and really have enjoyed my MTX thunder 5000 subs.
