Would 100watts on stereo system sound pretty good?

It's not just the watts that make a good stereo system. To answer your question, 100 watts is more than enough.

I've got a high-end amplifier with 2x100 watts that sounds more than good, it's excellent. Better get a 100 watt quality system than a cheap 200 watt unit. And it's the speakers that make the most difference anyhow. You can only judge those by listening and comparing (or reading reviews).
 
hay i am getting a stereo system for my birthday and i want it to sound pretty good i was looking at some and i saw one that i liked and it said it had "total 100W" would this one be good??
