WORRIED about strange symptom in daughter...

I have 15 year old twin girls, and just the other day, one of them told me people were teasing her at school because her hand looks so strange. I asked her what she meant and she showed me the fingers on one of her hands...On the index and middle fingers, up in the top joints, the joints are all bumpy and huge. Her fingers also look like they have grown about a quarter of an inch in the past few months! That past part might be normal, but that extreme swelling is so odd. She says it does not hurt, but remembers a time not too long ago when she did have pain in her fingers. It looks like arthritis. Of course, I will take her to a doctor, but in the meantime, I'm kind of freaking out! Does anybody have any ideas about this? Thanks.

hi , u need to ask her if she has early morning stifness in her fingers that relives after an hour or so and also take to a doctor he will do blood tests

I would take her to a Rheumatologist as soon as you can get her in and have them take a look at it. Do some research on rheumatoid arthritis and see if what she has going on fits with the information you find.

Please keep us posted. I hope you are able to find out what this is and get treatment if it's needed.
