Worms in dogs. I know it can cause a dull coat but does it also cause scratching?

I noticed worms in my Doberman 3 days ago coming out of his butt and yes I plan on taking him to the vet tomorrow but I was just wondering if it could be the reason why he's been scratching to the point where he is tearing his face up? I just took him to the vet 4 weeks ago for scratching and spent 200 on treatment (which was one shot in the rear) and flea meds for all the animals in the house.. More then I could afford in the month of December (Christmas time). The vet said he was allergic to fleas. Well he has no fleas and there is no fleas in the house and snow on the ground outside but he's still going nuts with the scratching. He's already on good food because the vet previously had told me he was allergic to a certain food product..

So in a dog with worms, can the worms cause the dog to scratch? And what are the chances of other animals in the house having worms because one has worms? Thanks
He was tested for mange at the previous app and that's when the vet came up with the conclusion of him being allergic to Food.
