World's Most Esxpensive HFCS

It's about 3 weeks into the Borders Bookstore liquidation sale.
Everything left is junk or still to expensive. One product I noticed
is both junk and too expensive:

Seattle's Best Flavored Syrups. Basically it's 750ml of HFCS, Water,
Artificial and Natural Flavors. The ingredients to make it would cost
about $.12. Retail cost: $24.99. Special liquidation price of only
$20.99.

I guess it's time to reread those labels. Sonoma makes some nice
syrups, BTW.

As of late Saturday, there were a couple of cookbooks that I want
at my closing Borders, but I will only get them at 50% off. So
far, the sale prices have been higher than what I would pay using
one of their coupons and my membership discount. Also, much to my
dismay, the cookbooks have gotten the lowest percentage off.

there are some pretty hefty textbooks in there, but not enough to
justify their delay in discounting.

I went in tonight and walked right back out. Everybody did. Just
fixtures for sale.

Back around Valentines Day (actually about a month before) I started to
research eReaders.

We have/had one here in Oz called a 'Kobo'. It could be got from our local
Angus&Robertson/Borders book store.

I bought the SO a Kindle through Amazon.com ........ and am *soooooooo* glad
I did!!!

(sometimes more in the case of best sellers). Magazines up to 75%
off. So selling them at 50% off they really aren't losing any money.
They still made quite a profit by selling a bunch of books at just
20-30% off.
