Hi folks. Anyone know if there's any channels broadcasting the world cup without commentary? Cheers, and enjoy the matches.

Har. Personally I still like hearing the crowds, smartypants. Bet that never occured to you, eh?

I don't think there are any channels broadcasting without commentary this year (on any providers). If you are hooked up to an AVR, you can try muting your centre channel. This usually works for hockey. It depends on how CBC implements the audio mix from FIFA.

If it doesn't work on CBC, you could also try SRC (french HD broadcast).

If you don't have an HD receiver, it won't work.

TLN is showing games in italian and spanish too.

Eh, I love it. :) But yeah, it does sound like the largest swarm of bees ever. Har!

"Everyone. Just press the mute button"

I'm still surprised you wouldn't even come back on this infantile bit. Hate to get had, do you?

Jeez man, give it a shot. It doesn't really matter if you don't sound as smart as you think you might be.

I for one think it is disgusting that Bell TV are not showing the World Cup on dedicated channels, like they did the Olympics.

Even just adding the World Feed in HD would have been something.

I believe other providers are planning on showing the Final in 3D, I guess Bell big wigs must just watch Golf, as that is so far the only thing shown in 3D on Bell TV.

Bell isn't an official sponsor of the WC as they were of the Olympics. CBC has the broadcast rights to the WC, do they not?

Things would have been a lot better with Bell if CTV had the canadian rights to the world cup. With the World Cup being on CBC this is all our Tax Dollars at work.

As opposed to using them for HNIC or the Grey Cup?? If the WC makes money through advertising then isn't it a GOOD deal for taxpayers?
