Working for someone else??? Owning your own business?

The way I see it is if you work for someone else, you have less power. But if you own your own business, the way I see it is I'd be too busy for anything else in my life....even if I'd own my own business I would have no freedom or room for a personal life. Is that how it is? What's it like owning your own business? I'm not really the corporate type of person but I am creative and I have leadership skills.
But if I stayed working for someone else my whole life I'd feel like I have less power. I hate anyone telling me what to do. Actually I hate all authority.

I could really own my own business if I put everything into it and be successful, BUT is it worth it?
 
whether it is worth it or not depending on how successful your business will be. In most cases, it is not worth it because about 80% of new business will fail within 5 yrs.

Starting a new business will be long hours, little vacation, needs money to start, etc
