across a canyon. A 6-ft construction pole held upright casts a 7-foot shadow. At the same time of day, a tree at the edge of the canyon casts a shadow that exactly covers the distance that is needed for the rope bridge. The tree is exactly 87 ft tall. How long should the rope bridge be. Round to the nearest foot.
 
6 feet high = 7 feet shadow
1 feet high = 7/6 feet shadow
87 feet high = 87 * 7 / 6 = 101.50 Conventionally rounded as 101 feet.
